Adults

• Adults aged ≥65 years are recommended to receive influenza vaccine every year

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are recommended to receive influenza vaccine every year

People with medical conditions that increase their risk of influenza

• People aged ≥6 months with medical conditions associated with an increased risk of influenza disease and complications are recommended to receive influenza vaccine every year

Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding

• Women who are pregnant are recommended to receive influenza vaccine in each pregnancy

Occupational groups

• Healthcare workers, carers and household contacts of people in high-risk groups are recommended to receive influenza vaccine every year
• Residents, staff, volunteers and visitors to aged care and long-term residential facilities are recommended to receive influenza vaccine every year
• Commercial poultry and pork industry workers are recommended to receive influenza vaccine during an outbreak of avian or swine influenza
• Essential services providers are recommended to receive influenza vaccine every year

Travellers

• People who are travelling during the influenza season are recommended to receive influenza vaccine

Other groups

• People experiencing homelessness are recommended to receive influenza vaccine every year
